Tumblr is not enough like Facebook. Facebook makes sense. Even when they change things around, I can always figure out what I need because it makes sense. Look at this conversation, for example. Why does it need to be carried out in such a manner? Shouldn’t it just be one continuous thread? OH and if someone replies so something I post I have to start a whole new post to reply to them, because I can’t comment on my own posts? It’s Maddening.
You are a big help, and I thank you. The problem is that Tumblr is an ineffective medium.
(No I am nothing like my Windows-and-Mac-hating father, why do you ask?)
Well, this is a multi-pronged issue, really.
1) I still don’t really get Tumblr, so there aren’t a lot of times I think to myself “Hmm, I want to post this on Tumblr.”
2) Usually if I’m on Tumblr, I’m either on my work computer or my iPhone App, so that complicates things.
3) I Seriously Dislike Tumblr’s Style. I don’t get it. Why can’t I just comment on things? Why do I have to post it to my blog to add a comment? And what if I want to post it in a way that lets other people comment, since the WHOLE POINT of me being on the internet is to have conversations with other people (and because do unto others and all that)? I feel like I’m 80 years old with this shit. “You young whippersnappers with your tumbling” as my Mother would say. Well, she wouldn’t even say “Whippersnappers.” But she would say “with your tumbling.” Because that’s how she rolls.
Thank you for checking in on me! I haven’t actually tried since that first time. If I see something I want to post, though, I’ll come to you for help. xxx
