Break-Up Lines
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh Demitri. You always know just what to say to a woman.

Plenty of oppressive bullshit goes down under the guise of nice. Every day, nice, caring, friendly people try to take our bodily autonomy away from us (women, queers, trans people, nonbinaries, fat people, POC…you name it, they just don’t think we know what’s good for us!). These people would hold a door for us if they saw us coming. Our enemies are not only the people holding ‘Fags Die God Laughs’ signs, they are the nice people who just feel like marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense, it’s just how they feel! We once got a very nice comment on this site that we decided we could not publish because its content was ‘But how can I respect women when they dress like – sorry to say it, pardon my language – sluts?’. This is vile, disgusting misogyny and no amount of sugar coating and politeness can make it okay. Similarly, most of the people who run ex-gay therapy clinics are actually very nice and polite! They just want to save you! Nicely! Clearly, niceness means FUCK ALL.
The Revolution Will Not Be Polite: The Issue of Nice versus Good (Social Justice League)
Concern trolls (‘we’re so ‘concerned for you’, we’re just doing it for your own good’) always think being polite about their bigotry makes it harder to spot them.

It’s been a trying couple of months since the last time I blogged. I lost my guitarist at the beginning of October, and I had become far too dependent on him for my shows. I had to regain guitar skills that I’d let lapse and a fair amount of confidence (those of you who saw me at one of those shows, I greatly appreciate the fact that you stuck with me through that). Just as I started to recover from that shakeup, I found out that I was unexpectedly pregnant. Being married, that’s not such a catastrophe, but it was a shock to my system and our plans. I had to get used to the idea of being a mother. Just when I was finally used to the idea, we lost the baby in a fairly traumatic fashion. So, as you can see, it’s been rough being me the last few months. Just as I started to get back on my feet, I would get knocked over again. To be honest, I’m a little afraid that something else is bound to happen, but nothing has yet. Just going to continue to operate on the assumption that it’s blue skies from here on out.
Today was awesome. I played a concert in my living room and streamed it on the internet, and got to perform for fans and friends all over the world. And I think you enjoyed it. It seems like you did.
I came up with the idea a few weeks ago while I was writing a newsletter to send out to the mailing list at 1 in the morning. Don’t you love those moments? I was a few days out from my first time opening for a touring act, Hotel Lights (band of Darren Jesse from Ben Folds Five) at the World Cafe Live, and trying to put the word out to the fans. It occurred to me that I had all this awesome news for my local people, but my fanbase is much more than Philly metro. That’s when I realized that the internet is how you all found me, and I could use it to do something nice for you! After setting a date and informing the newsletter folks that it would be happening, I called my friend Phil, who hosts this site for me (because he’s awesome), and asked him how we could make this happen. We had a site up within minutes. Now all I needed was you, and you showed up! Not just my amazing long distance fans but even some of my local people who have seen me play a million times, like Jo Pincushion and Noelle Picara! We had some silly things going on in the chatroom, such as suggestions for very unlikely covers and even more unlikely accents, and I think we all had a good time. I think we’re going to do this again.
Honestly, today was one of the best days I’ve had in months. Thank you all so much for sticking with me during these trying times. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude. Local folks, I’ll see you at the World Cafe Philly on 5/31. Long distance peeps, we’ll work something out.

:-D

“ Do I attract you?
Do I repulse you with my queasy smile?
Am I too dirty?
Am I too flirty?
Do I like what you like?
I could be wholesome
I could be loathsome
I guess I’m a little bit shy
Why don’t you like me?
Why don’t you like me without making me try? ”wow i just really love mika for some reason
SO weird, I had the strangest urge to listen to this last night. We were all operating on the same wavelength, I think.
I love watching anything RuPaul puts on television.
That is all.

- Tim you look normal. Stop that.
- Damian eat some sandwiches or something, you’re so thin.
- Other Andy, you have lost my respect because you left, so you can leave.
- Dan why are you wearing any army print shirt.
Over all I find this picture quite amusing.
Hey, hey, don’t be dissing on Andy Duncan unless you want to remove the albums ’OK Go’ and ‘Oh No’ from your computer/CD collection. We are not Twilighters/Twits - there is no Team Duncan vs. Team Ross nonsense here.
Amber, I just wanted to applaud you. :-) Nicely said.
May 6. I’m gonna play a concert from my living room and have the iSight on my laptop trained on me in the process. 3pm eastern time. You can watch!
